It's a shame that place is gone. Certainly it was a major influence on Sarah's work, and of course the collaboration of her and Pierre Marchand produced the wonderful sound that came to be her style. This article goes into detail about how Pierre created that distinctive sound on the albums they worked on together, when it was known as Morin Heights Studio in the Nineties.Karine wrote:The studio in which Sarah recorded Fumbling Towards Ecstasy with Pierre Marchand burned yesterday, it's a total loss.
Many other artists recorded songs there:

I've always liked the look of organized chaos in that studio that is captured so well in the videos of Path of Thorns, Ice and Mary on the Fumbling Towards Ecstasy DVD.

Pierre is on the tambourine on these two videos.
It looked like a very homey cabin in the woods sort of place. They should work together again someday and recreate that magic. Sail on, Pierre!
