Re: Shine On tour dates
Hello guys!
I have a few minutes to write about last night's concert in Montréal (November 15th).
It was a wonderful evening, Sarah was great and we loved the show!
We arrived quite early to get our tickets and to be there in time for the meet and greet. While we were waiting in the hall of the theater, Geoff Courtnall walked right next to us. I bet nobody recognized him except us The meet and greet was at 7 pm and the show started at 8 pm. The staff let us enter and we were waiting in line in the concert room when Sarah entered.
She was so beautiful! She was smiling and she looked happy to be there. We were so nervous!
I'm sure there was something like 100 people waiting with their VIP pass, so you can imagine that the meeting with Sarah was really short. I was a little bit sad about this, because we barely had the time to say hello! We were the third in line, after a couple and two friends. The tour manager told us that he would take our camera to do one picture for two people (unless you were alone at the show) and that was it!
The couple said a few words to Sarah but the two women before us only said "Hi, we like your music!" and they left. It was our turn!
Sarah gave me a big hug and two kisses on the cheeks (same with my sister). I told her that last year I helped Siri with the French website and that I wanted to thank her for the signed CD she sent.
Sarah said: "That was you?? It's great to finally put a face on your name!"
My sister added that I was in announcement video for the Canadian tour and Sarah said: I knew your face looked familiar!
That's the only thing we said to Sarah. The manager took our picture twice because on the first one, my sister's eyes were closed.

I wish we had more than 1 minute with her, but many people were still waiting in line. We walked aside and my sister managed to take a few more pictures of Sarah, like this one.

We walked to our seats: BB 14 and 16.
See where are those seats

Yes, we were right in front of the scene, like this (before the show):

We had enough time to check the merch table and leave questions for Sarah. I bought the tourbook (comes with the poster), two fridge magnets (for my sister and me) and a set of cards. We wanted to buy the art print (this one http://www.maplemusic.com/assets/produc ... poster.jpg) but it was only available online.
I left the tourbook and the cards at my mother's house because I didn't have the time to pack them before I left this morning. I didn't even open the tourbook, so I'll be a nice surprise to look at it when I come back next time.
Here's the fridge magnet:

2- Building A Mystery
3- Adia

7- World On fire
Couch - Questions
8- Loving You Is Easy

Couch - Questions
17- Fear
18- Sweet Surrender
19- Possession

20- Angel
21- Beautiful Girl

You can compare this list with the Victoria one:

Sarah's voice was really powerful and beautiful; the musicians were great and they seemed to work well with Sarah. My big last night's discovery was "Beautiful Girl". I didn't listen to it a lot and the studio version didn't impress me. Everything changed with the live version: it was touching and I loved the song.
Sarah picked one of our question during the first couch/questions session.
We asked: "How would you react if one of your daughters wanted to record a song or sing live with you?". She said that she would be thrilled to do it and that both of daughters were good singers and musicians. She said that Taja, her second daughter, would probably be the one who could ask for this, not India.
I loved hearing the new songs. My favorite ones were Broken Hear, Brink of Destruction, Monsters and Beautiful Girl. I can't pick my favorite songs in her older material because they were all beautiful. I'm not a big fan of Angel but hearing it live gave me chills. She was amazing and being close to the stage was fantastic!
You can take a lot a some pictures taken by my sister during the show:

Cool pictures, Karine! it sounds like you and your sister had a great time. Did you feel like a teenager again while you were there? Nice review, too. How did the show compare with when you last saw her?

It was a fantastic night and the songs were very good. Do you want to know the truth? I don't remember a lot from the concert of 2004Islandflyer wrote:Cool pictures, Karine! it sounds like you and your sister had a great time. Did you feel like a teenager again while you were there? It was 10 years ago! I remember that I couldn't recognize Hold On because she began by singing "You are my sunshine..." and I remember that I was pretty impressed by her talent. It's not a lot, I know... but that's the most important thing

An article (in French) from a newspaper of Moncton: it's about Sarah's meeting with students of Moncton before her show

So jealous and so happy for you, Karine ^^ Love the pictures, she was really wonderful!
She played River on November 13th, so I was thinking if she could play this one at the concert you went to, but she didn't.. I'd love to see this one live.

Even it was a short time, I'm sure you'll never forget it! Loved the magnets! I was about to ask you how the tour book looks like, but I found this:

Thanks! This time, I have pictures to help me remember about the show and I have the setlist too (and meeting Sarah will surely help ).CarolCiola wrote:So jealous and so happy for you, Karine ^^ Love the pictures, she was really wonderful!

Yes, that's the tourbook.
There are more pictures in it: as soon as I have time to do it (probably in December, when I'll have a few days off), I'll scan the book and put all the pictures here.
The cards are there too: http://www.fortdesignco.com/sarah-mclac ... ing-cards/
I also want to scan the booklet for the deluxe version of the album, so that you can have the credits for the 2 bonus songs.

Re: Shine On tour dates
I'm glad that everybody who's seen SMcL has enjoyed the concerts, I'm envious of you all, and it's also nice to put a face to a name Karine!!
I'm still a little frustrated that there has been no official talk of a European tour. I know there was a mention several months ago on her facebook account, {I think}, stating Europe was been planned, but it seemed to have been pulled very quickly!! I was tempted to plan a holiday around the 2nd. American tour, but it was very expensive and I was persuaded by my much better half not to bother.
