I don't know if someone posted it before...

Sarah McLachlan Shines On

About Turn The Lights Down Low:
Necessity. We recorded a solo at the very last minute. We were recording in EastWest Studios in Los Angeles with Bob Rock, with great musicians, and we basically had an hour left, [so we said], “Hey, what about this song? Here’s a chorus, go!” We recorded a really rough version of what they did, and there [are] some great bits in it, but it was very much a completely different genre, almost like a country song, if you can imagine that. When we sat down to go through the song and figure out what we were going to do with it, it didn’t make any sense, but I thought there was something really cool and [the guitar had] a good tone. So, basically what I did is took every two bars, cut [them], flipped [them], moved them all around, and created a new solo.

What a great article, Karine! Thanks for sharing :)

I also liked the last block that she talked about music in the teen's life ;)

Another article:
https://au.news.yahoo.com/entertainment ... nto-album/
She's just released her eighth album, Shine On, maintaining a cool head and a steady career in the process even though she's sold a total of 40 million albums since she started out as a musician.
"I think one of the biggest and most important things was I never expected it. I never expected the success I had and when I had it I was always surprised by it. I was always grateful for it and I never expected it to happen again," she says.
McLachlan was careful not to tread the familiar path of the disillusioned artist, refusing to be put off when a follow-up record might not have reached the dizzying heights of a hit album.
"But those kind of things have nothing to do with how I view success. For me, it's 'Am I proud of what I've done?' can I look at myself in the mirror at the end of the day and feel like I've done my best," she says.

Interesting article. Surely that's a misprint. Mirrorball had 23 songs, and is just under 2 hours. That's hard to imagine, but I'm up for it if she wants to do 30 songs. :D I would imagine 20 songs would be more normal, unless there is an opening act with 8 or 10 of their own. So go for it, Sarah!

I think Ed is right, 30 songs would be a lot! Maybe the prepared 30 songs in case they want to change the setlist a little bit.

That makes sense, Karine. I've wondered how many a top performer like Sarah can keep ready to play at any given time. With 10 or 11 new ones to remember, that's a lot to keep track of.

It appears they don't have setlists on the stage anymore. I assume the stage manager can queue them on their In-ear monitors, so they don't need them. The days of getting the performer to autograph a setlist are gone, probably (at least for major acts).
