One more very interesting article.
It is on many pages, so make sure you read them all :)
"How did the ukulele happen on The Sound Love Makes? Did it start out as a ukulele song?
“No, it started out on electric guitar. My guitar player, Luke Doucet, who’s a wonderful songwriter, wrote that. He sent it to me and said, ‘Hey, this reminds me of you’ – I’d recently fallen in love, so of course, I told him all about that. He said, ‘It’s a sweet little love song, and I thought you might like it.’ And I heard it and said, ‘Oh, this is gorgeous. I love it!’ [Laughs]"

One of the best tracks on Shine On, called Flesh and Blood, plays up her new-found appreciation for erotic pleasure.

The song was encouraged by a powerful romantic relationship in her life. “I’ve had more sex this year than I’ve had in my entire life,” she says, speaking to the song’s origins. “I was single for over three years and during that time, I didn’t have any sex. If you don’t use it, you lose it. I got to a place where I was very happy. I had my children, I had my friends, I had my music,” she says. “I had all these great things that helped to make me whole again . . . the idea of meeting someone was so over.” But, she says, something important was still missing.
Yeah, I know, I put the sexiest part of the interview ;)

JH: An important question: Do your daughters like your music?
SM: They do! I don't think they listen to it in a way that you and I listen it. Lyrically they kind of glaze over, but they love the melody.
