Deezer is an official website, related to big French companies: Orange, France Télévisions, etc.
Don't worry, it's absolutely legal ;)

This is good because my physical copy won't arrive till later in the week (I went for free postage from amazon) :)
Me too! But you can listen on Amazon Cloud as soon as it's released, while waiting for the CD. The AutoRip takes care of that.

Not long now... :)

i think this whole style debate about old versus new with an established artist is brought up on every forum i read. there are definitely two camps, and one usually criticizes the others' way of thinking. like most of us here, i think we all fall into the culture of sarah mclachlan so we have appreciated her musical growth over the years, even those long gaps between records ;) -- not that we don't carry criticisms to some of her output but i think it is fair that we see both sides and don't judge too harshly. i believe people have the tendency to get too attached to the older material, because like an old friend, you have so many memories together... and sometimes new friends are tough to come by, or they may shatter old friendships, or you simply just go in a different direction. have i beaten that metaphor enough. :D

well here i am being a debbie downer on album release day. looking forward to picking up my copy from target and listening while i work. i just wish i had a road trip planned for today. i love listening to new songs in the car with my iced coffee. i hope everyone enjoys their album release day rituals. :P
fumbling...

According to the Nielsen's projection, Shine On is expected to debut at #3 or #4 on the US' Billboard charts. Realistically #4 if it doesn't beat out the compilation Now 50

Thanks! :D

The projection was right, it's #4:
http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/ ... lboard-200
Back on the Billboard 200, singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan claims her sixth top 10 album with "Shine On" debuting at No. 4 (42,000). All five of her studio efforts since 1997's "Surfacing" have reached the top 10. She also hit the region with the No. 7-peaking Christmas album "Wintersong" in 2006. McLachlan debuted on the Billboard 200 just over 25 years ago, on the April 29, 1989-dated chart, with her first album, "Touch."

"Shine On" is McLachlan's first album on Verve Records after spending her entire recording career releasing material through Arista Records and Nettwerk Records.

The answer about the packaging:

Team SM:
The soft and hard case packages are the same. They are just available at different establishments, like Starbucks is selling the soft case and Target is selling the hard cover.

Most retailers here are selling the jewel case version (plastic), while the digipak is exclusive to Starbucks.

It's nice to have different versions :)
