"I come from a female perspective, and obviously Malala—she's talking about females not being educated. ...So, certainly it is very much a female empowerment song. And I have two daughters so I'm looking for some strong role models for them because there certainly are a lot of girls out there who may be doing their own thing but they're not doing good things. I don't judge anybody but at the same time I'm very pleased when I can talk about somebody in the world who is doing something really important and helpful and quite selfless."

I agree, Karine. I had thought it had a resemblance to Awakenings in the sound, but I hadn't looked at the lyrics. That's a good analogy you made. It's like the beginning of a journey, after coming to grips with herself. Maybe I'm the only one who see it that way, but to me this song is a sort of response to the last lines of "Awakenings". These are both the first songs on Laws of Illusion and Shine On, and I my mind they are connected.

By the way, I talked with my sister yesterday and she said that she had been able to hear it too, so the first release was not only for the US, it was for Canada too.
