TV and Media Appearances
Re: TV and Media Appearances
She could have her band with her. Melissa McClelland and Luke Doucet don't have any concert date that evening, so who knows
For one of my favorite live version of I Will Remember You, she played only with Vince Jones and it was great!

She had a big laryngitis weeks before that and it gave a to her voice a raw and fragile sound, that really fits with the song. I don't think she should be sick when she sings, but I love this version (especially at 2:14)
Edit: Ok, so now I don't know where to post anymore, to much new stuff!

I agree, Karine, that is a wonderful performance. Really gives me goosebumps. I recall seeing this months ago when I was looking for anything I could find on YouTube to learn about her music. The poignancy she projects is just amazing. The candles are a perfect backdrop, too. This comes out much better when she sings solo, I think (whether she's been sick or not). I hope she does a solo or minimalist performance on Jay Leno again. Where is the YouTube video of Beautiful Girl? I remember seeing it, but can't find it now.Karine wrote:She could have her band with her. Melissa McClelland and Luke Doucet don't have any concert date that evening, so who knows

It's here:

There's this one too (and I believe I hear other instruments on this one too)

The short piano part she played before Angel is a nice one.

Thanks, Karine. Those are nice. It seems like I saw it somewhere else, also.

Re: TV and Media Appearances
I like when she adds musical "improvements" to her songs. I don't know if she stills does it, but at the beginning of "Hold On", she used to play a few verses of "You Are My Sunshine" (Jimmie Davis).
In 2008, she also changed her piano part in the middle of "Word On Fire". The first time I heard it was when she played at the 150th birthday of British Columbia concert, in August. It was so beautiful!

I like the performance of "Hold On" from the Afterglow show where she does it that way. It sets up the song perfectly.Karine wrote:I like when she adds musical "improvements" to her songs. I listen to the CD of it in my car, and put on the DVD to see it again. It really was an impressive concert. Didn't you say you saw one of those on the Afterglow tour? Is this piano solo of World on Fire what you're referring to? I love it this way, also.

Exactly, around 2:40. It's beautiful!Islandflyer wrote:I like the performance of "Hold On" from the Afterglow show where she does it that way. It sets up the song perfectly.

I went to a concert of the Afterglow Live tour with my sister. It was an amazing night and I hope I'll be able to see her again during this next tour. I just hope her dates will fit with my own calendar (I'll probably fly back to Montréal in July).
The best thing would be to see her in Montréal, but I can go to other cities (Québec, Toronto, Ottawa, Boston, New York), depending on the dates. Anyway, we'll probably have more information about the tour in a few weeks.

I'm sure Lady Luck will be with you. This was your 888th post. 8 is a lucky number in China. 3 in a row must be luck cubed, right? Don't know if that helps, but it can't hurt!Karine wrote:Exactly, around 2:40. It's beautiful!Islandflyer wrote:I like the performance of "Hold On" from the Afterglow show where she does it that way. I have to get my passport renewed, so I can drive to Vancouver when she plays there. It's not that far from Seattle. I assume she will come to Seattle too.

If my memory is right, Seattle is on the road map yes. I will keep my fingers crossed for the tour dates!

Re: TV and Media Appearances
Look what we got here:
Sarah McLachlan on Leno (1-30-2014)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNpjqCIXBVY
Does it mean that we can expect to hear cello on her album? This song is a nice one, I like it!
She had a brand new haircut, I love it, it's like the one she had for the Chulo Pony show. I loooove that hairstyle. http://www.gettyimages.fr/detail/photo- ... 9/57162368
Tyler Colton, who did her hair yesterday, also worked for the One Night Live concert in Toronto:

One Night Live: http://www.solaced.info/album/Live/2008 ... index.html
Edit: Sorry, I was wrong: it's not Tyler Colton who did her hair in Toronto, it was House of Glamma. I had a picture of Sarah with T. Colton, but I can't find it anymore
