Sarah's Brasilian fan page

Post by CarolCiola » Wed Oct 02, 2013 11:35 pm

Hi guys, how are you today?

As I said in another topic, I'm building a site to Sarah's work here in Brasil. Most people know her songs, but they don't know who is she, or who is singing... and in my country there's no site about her.

So here is the link, it's not released at the searchers like Google yet, 'cause I'm not finished it (there's some wrong links, blank pages..). It has a very simple structure (it's doesn't even has a full domain with just her name), but was made with very love.

http://sarahmclachlanbrasil.wix.com/site

It will work like this:
All the site has a reference link of content's source (of www).
Fans will help to put all the content on it. Through "Contato" link (contact), the fans can send me an email about what they want to contribute, like a picture, an article...
I'll manage all the content received and update the site.
The content sent will be labeled with the name/state of the person who sent it.
It's going to be a work for fans to fans!

Please, before I finish it, I'd like to know your opinions, critics, sugestions, anything about it. Yeap, almost all the content it is in Portuguese, of course, but I'd like opinions about images, layout and other stuff.

I'm creating a brasilian Facebook page about her too, it also doesn't exists (until now!), but I'll send you another day.

Thanks a lot, have a nice week :D

Hi Carol! Your website is great, I like its look, the black background with a white/gold font. :)
I like your choice of pictures for the gallery.
About the videos, maybe you would like to add these:

Thanks very much for your feedback, Karine!

I didn't find these videos, that's why they were without link.
I'll make some modifications to display those videos, don't know how yet... glad to know that the page is going well till now  :P

Even if I don't understand a word of what you wrote :D , it seems like a great fansite. I hope it will gather new fans in Brasil.
By the way, I think it's a good idea to put Sarah's Twitter feed on your home page.

Your site looks great, CarolCiola. Nice picture on the homepage. I see you have the twitter up, and a lot of video links now. Nice work! :) I see some non-English sites have a translator feature. Is that an app, or how is that done?

Thank you Islandflyer :)

About the translator feature, we can find some apps related, but unfortunatelly this website editor that I'm using doesn't has it  So... I'm working on it right now, duplicating all the pages and doing the translating by my own. It's A LOT of work, but in the end the result will be very very nice!

Hi guys!

Work done! The site was finished. It has now the English translation and a playlist by rdio, very cool with some music peaces, so people can hear Sara's music too.

Hope you enjoy it, and please, help me to share it!

Thanks! ;)

You did a very good job! :)
Why is it written on the Home page "The site will be officially available in search engines in January 2014"?

The site is hosted on a free service, so at the moment you put the site on air, it takes three months to be avaiable for search on Google, for example. That's so boring... :x but even the paid service takes all this time

Finally done (or almost!): the new Sarah McLachlan Brasil's website is on air!

http://www.sarahmclachlanbrasil.com.br/

It took me almost two weeks to finish it, full time job, many backaches, headaches, and other "aches"... but it worth! Although it's simplicity, every detail was planned to work of the best way possible, and now the navigation is faster and without instabilities, and with an own domain :)

The website is a beta version (95% already done), I still have to organize some thinks, like links and pictures, and I also have to think of a way to implement the Gallery session. Ellie, do you have any tips?

Hope you guys like it ;)
