Building a Mistery is a great song! It makes me feel really well when I listen to its chords. I have to agree that although it's played many times, I also can't get enough of it. Surfacing was the first album I bought and BMA is a mind-blowing opening track. I'd already listened to other tracks (Adia and Angel), already loved Adia, but when I put the earphones to listen to the CD in the store and BMA came out was really an special experience and made me begin my collection.

I love love love this song <3 This is the song that made me fall in love with Sarah in the first place, before it I had only heard Angel (the only song of hers I knew from the radio) and Fear (in Roswell), but it was when I heard BAM that something clicked and my love for Sarah's music began. It's still my favourite to this day and I never tire of listening to it, the lyrics are so amazing and Sarah just totally rocks on this one 8-)

Oh, and the video is also extraordinary :D

One of my favorites and a good video to go with it. Feels like a cult song. It's like one of Sarah's trademark songs along wirh Angel and Sweet Surrender.

This song is my introduction to Sarah's music. I've always loved it and I never tire of listening to it. I remember a particular moment in the past while I was watching a film called Casanova (starring Heath Ledger), this song just popped into my head and I had some kind of a wishful thinking that Sarah could have done an alternate music video wherein she's dressed in 18th century Italian costume, dancing at a Masquerade ball in a Venetian palazzo. :)

A live acoustic piano version of this song (similar to what she has done to Possession) would've been great though that's probably not going to happen.
One little leaf adrift in the breeze, refuses to fall from the sky
Blown by the wind it clings to the tree, unwilling to wither and die...

Okay Sarah fans

Watch the Building A Mystery filmclip - then straight after - watch Metallica's clip for the first "Unforgiven"

you'll flip.

Sarah's stated in a recent interview that she's thought about covering Nothing Else Matters and that it might still happen. That will be one of the best covers ever, IMO.

PERFECT GIRL

Knowing what we know now, this song seemd to be a clue as to what was happening with her marriage. This song to me is about not being able to live up to someone's picture of what you should be. Basically , someone who cannot accept who you are. This song wasn't one of my favorites on Aftergow at first but over the years I have really grown to love it. It actually sounds a little like it could have been on Fumbling. I like the verses better than the chorus - but I suppose it's meant to show hope after the darkness of the verses. Hope this is one she'll bring back live.

Favorite lyric: All your expectations bury me
Favorite moment in the song: The beginning harmonized voices
One word that sums up this song: Heartbreak

Oh, how I adore this song. <3 It's really special to me because it contains one of my favorite Sarah lyrics:

The riot in my heart decides to keep me open and alive
I have to take myself away from you
'Cause I can't compete I can't deny there's nothing that I didn't try
How did I go wrong in loving you?

Afterglow is a strong album lyrically, I must admit that. It has grown on me tremendously through the years. Musically... that's what brings this album down, minus masterpieces like Fallen, Stupid & Time. Listening back to the album now, with the information we now know of, I believe Afterglow is a major clue in how Sarah's life/marriage wasn't how we saw it, which was "perfect"... (U Want Me 2?)

This is my favorite song from Touch. Such a great opening-beautiful, poetic lyrics, melody and of course amazing vocals. It really paints a picture-you can almost see her sneaking through a medieval forest as she sings the song-would have made a great video. Too bad she hasn't sung this in tour again - would love to hear a new interpretation. It reminds me of Loreena McKennitt and that's a very good thing in my book.

Favorite lyric: A cold wind blows right through me I'm made a hollow shell
Favorite moment : when she sings the last "my life's slipping out of me"
One word that sums uf this song : Magical
