I really like the Pollyanna review. After hearing the album a few more times I completely agree with what Miguel was saying about Love Comes. It was one where she could really attack and let herself go but fell back into being reserved and controlled instead. It could have been as good as Awakenings.

Agree with Pollyanna about Illusions Of Bliss being shaded a bit by Awakenings but along with Out Of Tune, those three are my favourites. Love Come and Forgiveness are growing more on me. I just hate what I consider to be unpleasant lyrics on Forgiveness. I regard it as an attacking and angry song dressed up to look sad. If she had really rocked with those lyrics, it could have been much better and more honest. I like UWM2 and Don't Give Up On Us. DGUOU was shaded by UWM2 but now it's also growing on me more and I think they add to the album (mainly because I don't have them).

The whole album has an overall sound similar to Afterglow imo. I still like Heartbreak and HATE LYIE. Bring On The Wonder has imo more form than content. I much prefer Dirty Little Secret. I think that is a much stronger song. I know - it's all just opinion, and that's mine. Overall I like the album, but I think it will possibly be one of her weakest.

There is one thing I have considered. After hearing two of the opening tracks, Building A Mystery and Sweet Surrender, on Surfacing I kept yearning to hear something as strong and different on the rest of the album. It didn't appear. It was all so one paced after that. It took me ages to appreciate the songs on that album because of that overall one paced feel. Wanted to hear something else that stood out like those two but didn't find it. That meant I didn't apprecaite how strong some of the other songs were. Maybe the same thing will happen for this album.

He's a pathetic excuse for a human being. I think he had to stop discussing anything that has to do with decent music. Doesn't matter though, all of his opinions are utter shite in my book anyway.

I'm actually impressed with her new album. I must say that this album is better than Afterglow, it has a nice flow from song to song. Afterglow had a few great songs, but the album as a whole was lacking. Illusions of Bliss is a better album as a whole, but i don't think it has an big-hitting singles on it. When i first listened to the album a few songs stood out, like Awakenings, Loving you is Easy, Out of Tune and Changes. But as i listened to the album, the more I fell in love with Illusion of Bliss and Love Come. They are probably my favourites. Overall I would give this album a 4/5.

I think its not a big hit in the mainstream simply because there aren't 'singles' on the record. I love it though to be honest. I think that the general population sorely lacks musical intelligence.

i went out after work to get the deluxe version, and when i came home the regualc pre-ordered cd was there.
i have an hour drive home from work so i got to listen to the whole cd.

right now my favorites listed in order of which songs i like most.

-forgiveness
-rivers of love
-awakenings
-heartbreak

I agree with the lack of singles because there aren't any I could see being a big hit. I see this as being a more underground album geared to her fan base. I believe the true fans who have stuck around will buy it.The inclusion of the songs from Closer is a bit of a disappointment and calls into question Sarah's future songwriting. In seven years we only get nine new songs. I know she has trouble but it makes me wonder. The songs clock in at under five minutes. To me those are the negatives.I am not good at reviewing songs so I'll just rate them.
