Who runs this site?
The site is/was created, being updated and maintained by me, Ellen Edens. I’m a dutch Sarah McLachlan fan for quite a while now. I did alot of Sarah research on the www and stumbled across so many little fanpages that were created around Sarah’s Surfacing era, with alot of info. A great part of these sites are not known and never updated again. I wanted to create one site which would contain the information I’ve collected from those Sarah sites and make it one big Sarah archive.

Programs/etc used to run the site: FireFTP for Firefox to upload, FileZilla as alternative FTP-stuff, WordPress for the blogstructure, phpBB3 for the forum, XAMPP for testing, phpMyAdmin, jAlbum for the gallery and sometimes a little coffee…
Solaced.info is based on WordPress, which includes also the big database behind the site. Furthermore, the forum thanks its life to phpBB3. The layout is from WordPress.org, but I changed it to some Sarah love-layout – and see the result. I use different plugins to make things work around here:
AddToAny Share button for the fancy sharing buttons, WP To Twitter to update my twitter account, ShareThis so everyone can share any update through social media and Simple Facebook Connect to update Solaced’s Facebook page. Meteor Slides is used for the slideshow effects on the news page. The tour archive thanks its flashy and handy layout to Gigpress.
Solaced.info was first Solaced.nl, but I was having so much troubles with that domain name (and hosting stuff, it’s a long story…) I decided to register the .info so it’d be a fresh start.
Solaced.info started officially in July 2009, but I’m counting its “life” from the moment Solaced.nl started which is 03 June 2006.
Solaced.info is hosted by Flexwebhosting (a dutch company).

This site wouldn’t be running and updated at all without the members of the now defunct SarahBoards.com. I want to say a special thank-you to the boardmembers Miguel, uberbelly, Jessel and K.
