I started to watch those videos of SM's and Friends Tour.. having soo much fun with Q & A from the hat

Oh, Possession on piano, it's beautiful!CarolCiola wrote:Yes, FTE is really pretty good! I'm listening to this and enjoying a lot. I didn't like it at the first couple times that I listened to, think it's because I started to listen SM's latest albums first, and they're so different of her earlier albums. I had to get used to hearing it for a while. Her earlier albums are very intense, by stronger melodies and some obscure feelings too, but in the good way, you know? That version of Hold On on legacy's FTE album is so beautiful, and I'm in love for Possession on the piano version!

I love to hear Sarah sing solo, on either piano and guitar. She certainly needs no help. So while you're exploring the "early" Sarah music, Carol, you might enjoy downloading some of the "bootleg" material Ellen has in the Bootleg Archive section. I recently checked out "Pressed Up Against the Glass", a concert from early 1995. The link for it is right there to download it. These early shows are excellent, and Sarah has some funny banter with the audience as she explains what some of the songs are about. "Under a Blackened Sky", from the same period is also great, but you have to ask Ellen for it (she won't mind). These shows had some of her early songs that she didn't sing live again later. Having heard much of FTE first on Mirrorball and Afterglow Live, I found the album somewhat muted by comparison, but it is wonderful.Karine wrote:Oh, Possession on piano, it's beautiful!CarolCiola wrote:Yes, FTE is really pretty good! I like that one a lot. Do you mean where she says "I'll take your breath away" in a near whisper? Maybe she was doing that to give more emphasis, without backup singers. But maybe she was losing some of her voice in that show. Anyway, it sounds good, whatever. Here's one I like of her singing Ice Cream solo, and forgetting the first lyric. It's charming.CarolCiola wrote:Thanks for the tip! I'm already downloading it.
I've been hearing some solo live performances, really enjoy to watch her singing, her face expressions holds my attention! Not only her, I always liked to watch the artists in general. Live performances have this particular label, you can see the singers "giving their blood" on the stage. On a video from CBC Toque Sessions, at Possession her voice fails at that part she sings "I'll take your breath away" (don't know if it's proposital...). If really was a mistake, she disguised very well!
Here's the video I'm talking about:

So you're a guitarist, then? You could do some covers and put them on YouTube.CarolCiola wrote:Very good performances on this link that you sent! I'll try to do some of them on my guitar tooOh my, it was 20 years ago! And she is still awesome

Talking about forgetting, you remembered me one performance at Lilith Fair that she is so exciting through a solo guitar and starts to walk dancing all around the stage, and let the microphone on the top of the piano; when she comes back to the pedestal, where's the microphone?! So funny!!

I don't have Mirrorball DVD, but already watched some parts on Youtube, it's pretty cool! Yesterday I watched that Story Tellers show, you know? I had lots of fun at that cake part
I like your Path of Thorns, Carol. It's very melodic and soothing. Did you do the drums as well? I'll listen to some more when I get a chance. Nice guitar work.CarolCiola wrote:Islandflyer,
I play acoustic guitar and drums, for hobbie, since I was a teenager. I've already a Youtube channel, and some MP3 on SoundCloud too.
I don't record videos for a long time, 'cause my webcam is broken and my cellphone's camera isn't that good... You can notice that I have SM's MP3 only, but none videos playing her music yet (promise that I'll record soon!).
These FTE's live sessions are fabulous!

Karine,
Very funny the Marchand's voice lol Liked a lot of this studio's visual, the flowers, some lost fruits... specially Sarah's tresses![]()
And what a coincidence you mentioned The Path Of Thorns, I've just finished a recording of an acoustic version and uploaded on my SoundCloud's channel, check it out! This is my favorite music of FTE's live sessions.
There are a few SM's songs on my channel, some of them needs to some correction, but I tried to do my best!
