The love of Solace

FTE is my favourite of Sarah's albums but Solace always remains my second. There is a mysterious and dark beauty at play in those 11 tracks that makes them so divine and timeless. It really is the recording were Sarah found her place in music, Touch was good but when she found Pierre the real magic of her music was born. I Will Not Forget You is a song I could listen to a million times but it would always inspire a beautiful feeling inside of me...

i really like solace... as a whole, i like to say its my favorite record from sarah. i do prefer some of the different mixes that were not used on the record... i really like the violin mix of "shelter" and the CBC version of "black." i really enjoy the celtic sounds of "home" and the simplicity of "lost." i have to say that "mercy" doesn't do much for me... but there's usually one tune i skip over on each record.

ah... i remember when i was discovering solace... 2oo1, 10 years after its creation. good times.

Solace is my favourite Sarah album. I love how dark and raw it is and I also love how passionate her singing was. I really hope her new album echoes Solace a bit but I am pretty sure we are going to hear Afterglow part two.

Well, for me "Mercy" just shades it as my most played track. When I first heard it it didn't tick any boxes at all, but when you listen to it, it's a bloody good track. The production of it improves it no end. The live version and the demo version don't do it any favours at all but as a studio track, it works and it's good. But then again so are all the others. There isn't a mediocre track on there.

Solace is really very good and I also cannot find any track I don't like. I'm really not good on picking up a favorite, but I do love Back Door Man, it's really amazing! The Path of Thorns and I Will Not Forget You are also so good....and so it goes all over the other tracks....

my favorites from this album, well my top three would have to be

1. the path of thorns
2. drawn to the rhythm
and 3. i'd have to go with mercy

My top 3 from this album would have to be: I Will Not Forget You, Home and The Path of Thorns (in that order)

Vocal-wise, she's in top form in those 3 songs for that album, IMO. Would have to throw in Mercy too.

Solace is my second favorite album. When I heard Black on the single of Possession I was blown away by her voice and the way they performed it live.I had to get the album that Black was on.

My favorite song is I Will Not Forget You, followed by Black, Thorns and god how did this become so hard to answer.
