How many "new" songs will there be?

If there is going to be a new album this year, or next year, or whenever, one of the big questions for me is, how many genuinely new songs will there be? "U Want Me 2" will probably be on it and that other one, but I don't think the Winter Olympics song will be. Will there be any remixes? Any older songs redone?
I am a sceptical sort of person. I find myself unable to believe that a new album of new material will surface this year. If it does I am wondering will it really be a new album, or maybe half a dozen songs mixed in with some older stuff. "U Want Me 2" has already been included on another album, so it isn't IMO a new song. So how many genuinely new songs will there be? I think I am too optimistic in going for 7. Maybe 6. If I had to choose a number I would go for 7. That could be hopelessly optimistic.
Another question for me will be, how many songs will be about her finding new love and being hap hap happy? I like her old idea of letting things brew for a few years before writing about them. On the last European tour before playing "Push" she spent ages telling everyone how blissfully happy she was, and what a saint Ash was, especially after how badly she had treated him, and how he was the most wonderful human being and partner in the entire world etc etc. Guess she wont be playing "Push" on the upcoming tour. I just hope she mellows out and doesn't spend the whole time trying to convince herself and everyone else how happy she is. I presume a cover version of Motorhead's "Die You Bastard" is out of the question. But who knows?

I'm assuming the regular 10 songs or so. I don't think U Want Me 2, Don't Give Up On Us or One Dream will be included since they're history.
At the moment, I'm picturing the album to be a mix of FTE and Surfacing/Afterglow, plus Stupid. I'd love to see Sarah pull an Alanis and go crazy, but I don't see that happening. The closest we have to that is Plenty and Stupid. The format of FTE with 12 songs would be nice, but I can't see that happening either.

Yeah and she goes crazy very well. She just cannot let herself go. Maybe that is what is holding her back from producing more outstanding material. She strives for perfection, but not only does it not exist, in order to improve sometimes you have to try and fail. Does she need to fail in order to move to the next level? She tries so hard to write material that is close to her best, that it binds her from just letting go and getting on with it. I think she would rather produce nothing than just have a go.
Material in recent years has been more produced and less natural than earlier work. I can't fault Marchand, as he is a musical soul mate. It is a joint effort, and together they produce that vision. I just hope she produces some more of that cutting edge material. Age is not on her side as that voice is past its best. I think the songs written around the voice at its peak, is what produced that amazing work. Some change of direction I feel is needed. But critics like me sit at the back, while the geniuses astound us all. Maybe she will do that.

Honestly, I prefer if all the songs are new so no UWM2, DGUOU, & One Dream. I'm hoping for an album with no less than 12 new tracks. I don't think it'll be as good as her early material but it's better than no Sarah at all. I have a feeling I'll love this a hundred times more than Afterglow though...

Well once more the Wolfman will pull a trick out of his hat! You can count at least eight new songs if not more. From what I'm getting is a new direction with a new album. New material will set Sarah apart from earlier stuff. More to come as I get it.

Hmm, maybe a hip-hop album??
Since there's no mention of musical direction, my first guess is, all songs have been co-written with Pierre (just like the last 3 new songs: One Dream, UWM2, and DGUOU). Not sure about that other new song she performed live

Well at least Sarah is doing all of the Lilith dates. There was speculation that she wouldn't. I don't see an album this summer. I think Terry McBride wants to us to believe that she will. I hope what Wolfman is saying is true because so called inside info needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Like Jessie, I'm wondering where the hell are you getting all this info from? lol.
Sometimes, I have this weird feeling that you might be Ash, just hiding under the veil of anonymity.
The mere thought of a hip-hop album is horrible Migs!
I'm not sure if Sarah's going to dabble with electronica again and I'm quite sure that her days of writing overly melodramatic stuff are over. I dunno how it's going to work out but I see her doing some upbeat tunes for a change. I guess we'll be hearing a lot of
Ice Creams and
Lovin' You Is Easys. My speculations are driving me nuts...
