4. The first music you ever bought yourself?

5. The first concert you ever attended?
Some local band. I can't remember, it was a long time ago.

6. Your favourite concert you ever attended?
None. I missed out on Alanis Morissette, Vanessa Carlton, & Incubus.

7. Have you ever been to a Music Festival?
Sadly, there are no music festivals here like Lollapalooza or Lilith. Only one or two-night shows featuring generic local bands/pop starlets that sound like Coldplay, Beyonce or Rihanna... :(

8. What was your favourite song as a child?
Uhmmm... any hit song by ABBA or The Carpenters.

Great questionnaire! Just the sort of thing an introspective Sarah M fan would come up with :)

1. Your favourite artist other than Sarah?

Mike Oldfield

2. Your top 3 albums of all time?

"The Songs Of Distant Earth" - Mike Oldfield
"Incantations" - Mike Oldfield
"Karma" - Delerium

3. Your top 3 songs of all time?

"Incantations Part IV" - Mike Oldfield
"Sanvean" - Lisa Gerrard
"Possession" - Sarah McLachlan

4. The first music you ever bought yourself?

"Revenge" - Eurythmics

5. The first concert you ever attended?

Sting at the State Theatre, Sydney - Australia, in 1996

6. Your favourite concert you ever attended?

Sarah Mclachlan, Afterglow Tour, State Theatre, Sydney - Australia in 2005

7. Have you ever been to a Music Festival?

No, I really prefer single concerts. Better seats and decent venues, not paddocks and queues for port-a-loos.

8. What was your favourite song as a child?

"When Tomorrow Comes" - Eurythmics

9. Name an artist who's music you just don't like?

Lady Gaga. I just don't see the attraction. Her songs are simple as. The hooks are either recycled or just annoying. She's only popular because it's a manufactured "catchy" sort of sound, and she exists in a void when most of her pop contemporaries are pumping out even worse rubbish than she is.
If you don't believe me, just consider the Top 5 songs in the charts in almost any week from say, 1986, and most of those songs are still remembered. Will the whole Top 5 from any week in 2010 be remembered in 20 years time?

10. Favourite movie soundtrack of all time?

"The Fountain" - Clint Mansell

11. Favourite TV theme song of all time?

"Once & Again" theme - Snuffy Walden

12. Can you play a musical insturment?

Nope :( Not yet anyway!

13. Have you ever met any of your musical heroes?

No :/

14. Which was the best decade for music in history?

I'm inclined to think 1990s. Back in the 90s I would have said 80s. But in hindsight, the 90s was the best blend of pop and integrity.

15. Name the song you wish to have playing at your wedding?

"Lake Constance" - Mike Oldfield

16. Name the song you would want at your funeral?[/quote]

Really difficult to answer, but probably...
"The Arrival" - Michael Nyman.....because it feels like a mix of sadness, hope, and....transcendence. ;)

Rob.

I concur. Not to mention how she shamelessly rip off other artists, particularly Grace Jones, Nina Hagen, Klaus Nomi, & Madonna; thinking that no one below 30 would notice. And what's more infuriating is that she's mediocre to the last degree but she projects this image that she's a cut above the rest of the pop tarts when the truth is that she's simply the new Britney Spears. But she's an accomplished mimic, I'd give her that.
