Favourite Music Videos Ever?

So as the subject says, what are your favourites and/or which are the best ones ever?

- Only post your best of the best :)
- 'Best' is whatever you think is best: fun, amazing, sad, perfect-for-the-music, brings-back-memories, sexy, whatever.
- You have to post a link!

I'll start with these.

Goldfrapp - "Happiness"
A man jumps around town, as life goes by. Simple idea, totally enchanting video...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnHlGONToIc

Lily Allen - "Fuck you"
Lily gets up and wanders out of her hotel room, and proceeds to squeeze and stretch passers-by and objects by like plasticine. How fun would this be?

Ladyhawke ~ My Delirium
I love the mixture of live action and water colour animation! In my mind its one of the most creative and beautiful videos ever made! :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_bFO1SNRZg

Loreena McKennitt ~ The Bonny Swans
The story of the song is brought to life by beautiful medieval/pre-raphaelite imgary. Its shame Loreena has only ever made two music videos, because this and The Mummers' Dance are amazing!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsNJuhBfbPg

Regina Spektor ~ Eet
Miss Spektor is one of the most beautiful women currently in the music industry and this video shows off that beauty in the most dreamy way.... *sigh*
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMEpaVL_WsU

The Muppets & Queen ~ Bohemian Rhapsody
This is one of the funniest things ever! I do so love the Muppets! <3

Raspberry Swirl - Tori Amos
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V9pfaCqChY

Every Day - Stevie Nicks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IG2r3MMzm2Q

^ Not a huge fan of the song since Stevie didn't write it, but it's a beautiful video. The swans are amazing.

Why - Annie Lennox
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vP-bONWw38

Walking on Broken Glass - Annie Lennox
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y25stK5ymlA

^ Very similar to Sarah's Stupid video thanks to Sophie Muller. Hugh Laurie also makes a cameo.

Little Bird - Annie Lennox
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aexOhTQm ... re=related

^ Drag queens impersonating Annie? Hell yeah!

The Power of Goodbye - Madonna
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHydngA5C4E

^ The chess game symbolizing something deeper... very good Madge.

I'm such a music video junkie in the late 90s and listing my best of the best would probably fill up about 3 pages so I think I'll post the 'very best' of my guilty pleasures. Hope I'm still keeping to form ;)

Turn Back Time - Aqua
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-ALQyVDJM4
Yeah I know, Aqua sucks terribly. I'm among the ones who suffered from excessive ear bleeding every time they play 'Barbie Girl' and Doctor Jones' on the radio back then. But this one song just did it for me, I just love it to bits. I'm not ashamed to admit this is one of my favorite videos from that time.

Closing Time - Semisonic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGytDsqkQY8
So effing corny but this brings back memories of the time back in college when I was attending classes at night. It's funny since by the time we leave the campus, nearly all establishments are closed in the University belt except fastfood chains, cyber cafes and billiard halls to name a few. Yeah, I have memories of humming this to myself on my way home.

Frozen - Madonna
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXFHf8xZ1CA
Yeah, shame on me lol! This is the one video of Madonna that intrigued me since the release of that album which is probably her only claim to artistry. The effects are great and the song is pretty good imho, it takes you to another dimension. Tbh, I didn't expect Madonna to be capable of coming up with something like this so you can imagine my surprise when Ray of Light came out. The album and the song 'Frozen' made me grudgingly admit to myself that Madonna is an artist. This video is like a doppelganger to Kate's video of The Sensual World (powerful depiction of nature, nighttime, feminine sensuality, etc.):

Did you watch the Power of Goodbye (also from Ray of Light) video I posted above? This isn't her only work that's "artistic." What about Live to Tell (from True Blue), Like a Prayer (Like a Prayer), Erotica (the whole album), This Used to be My Playgroud (A League of Their Own OST, which she also starred in), Take a Bow (Bedtime Stories), You Must Love Me/Don't Cry for Me Argentina (Evita, which she starred in) & American Life (the ENTIRE album).

Bad Girl (Christopher Walken plays her guardian angel):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUII7DTACf4

Live to Tell (from the Confessions tour):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdU3fKbb ... re=related
- Notice the scripture as well a Madonna's statement. She's not saying she's Jesus. She's trying to promote good welfare and show the good in religion, minus the hypocrisy.

Rain (from Erotica):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15kWlTrpt5k

Nothing Fails (from American Life):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNzkOyvJNP8

I'm sorry. I get truely defensive over Madonna. I feel since Madonna in 1981-1982, she's been truely herself/artistic. She worked her ass off in the late 70s and throughout her entire career to become who she is today. She deserves all of that. Yeah, she may do some things for shock value (the horrible Letterman interview in the early 90s, for one example LOL). She's not the best guitar or piano player out there. I still believe she deserves some credit. She must be pretty amazing ya know, since, like... Lady Gaga is copying her every move now.

;)

LOL! Of course I've seen that video loads of times since '99. I'm quite familiar with Ray of Light. It's not even remotely feasible to completely ignore Madonna if you live in a country that is so obsessed with American pop culture. Madonna takes great pleasure in the spotlight and there's nothing wrong with that (I hasten to add) but she is forever chasing record sales. Thus, she keeps tailoring her albums for a particular demographic which her fans sometimes misconstrue as "Madonna redefining herself". Trust me, that 'serious artiste' argument has been going for for ages. Madonna is an artist, that's a fact but the businesswoman overshadows the artist most of the time.

'Live To Tell' & 'Like A Prayer' are simply catchy pop tunes and I like both. Not much art in both but that's probably a matter of taste. I should say Madonna is a decent songwriter even though she's not my cup of tea. It's also worth mentioning that both Sarah and Tori likes her, and even Kate said she's good. Both Grace Slick and Grace Jones have nothing bad to say about her either, well except Joni Mitchell (but then again she also doesn't like Dylan, Joplin, and Suzanne Vega lol). I do not deny her contributions to the music industry and she def deserves a lot of credit for that. And she has earned the right to be a diva, although a lot of us non-fans could smack her sometimes. :P

Btw, I forgot 'This Used To Be My Playground'. Another work of art. Great film too. :)

Some great videos guys :) I am still clicking through them.

I also adore this one...

Fiona Apple - "Across The Universe"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gLWTtlMwo4

Surely one of the most amazing videos, and she's so beautiful in this too. I like how she looks as if she's about to burst into laughter on a few occasions, as the bunch of 1950s hipsters just go wild smashing the diner to pieces.

Sixpence None The Richer ~ Kiss Me
A fun black and white video that plays tribute to New Wave French cinema and of course Leigh Nash is so dreamy!! *big sigh* There is another video for this song but its not as cool!
