I'm listening to "Shock To Your System", a new song by Tegan and Sara.
This is sooooo good!
Their new record is out! It took me a little time to appreciate the production of the album: it's more pop, with a lot of synthetizer, but the lyrics of the songs are great and I enjoy them a lot now.

@ Karine: Heartthrob is such an awesome album, finally got my copy today!

I really like it too! Some fans regret the change in their music, but I think it's quite refreshing. There's a lot of "Love They Say-bashing", because this song is a bit cliché, but Tegan assumes it and it's one of my favorites. These women are good songwriters; both my sister and I enjoy the songs.Crazylitstudent wrote:@ Karine: Heartthrob is such an awesome album, finally got my copy today!
Do you have the two bonus tracks?

A recent discovery: Phildel, "Storm Song".
I would not be surprised to hear that Nettwerk try to promote this UK singer in North America: Ashwin Sood was her drummer during the Vancouver Folk Festival and she met Bill Leeb for a collaboration with Delerium.
I like the songs and Phildel's voice is a pretty one.

Just saw Jazz/New Age pianist/composer Keiko Matsui at Jazz Alley in Seattle, and she puts on a wonderful show. I've been a fan for years, and I love her melodious, spiritual and wide-ranging tunes that cross all sorts of musical boundaries, but are constrained by none. No vocals, but inspiring and reflective piano music, backed by guitar, bass, drums and sax.
Like Sarah, she seems to have a genre all her own.

She plays very well and the video with the dancers is nice. It's not the kind of music I listen to, but it sounds good!Islandflyer wrote:Just saw Jazz/New Age pianist/composer Keiko Matsui at Jazz Alley in Seattle, and she puts on a wonderful show.
