Lissie

Post by Magellan » Wed Mar 23, 2011 8:21 am

So I'm continuing to work on my little blog site, and have put together my thoughts on Lissie's "Catching A Tiger". I know some of you here are already fans of Lissie. She's very good, and I think there are a few tracks on her debut album that are not to be missed....

And if you follow me on twitter, you'll only get the occasional tweet but will know whenever I post a new review to the blog ;) Also if anyone thinks my site is worth linking to (if not now, then once I've got some more content) let me know and I'll link back.

I think I prefer the new Lissie album to the third KT Tunstall album. There are lots of great songs on there, influenced by various decades of music. You can hear the influences, but the songs stand out on their own. It was at the Cambridge Lissie concert that I first heard The Pierces, as they were the support. My partner almost preferred The Pierces. Tbe disappointment with her live show was the lack of songs from the album. Yes there is a high degree of production on them, but they are strong enough to hear live without that production. As she only has one full album out I presumed we would hear all the songs from it, but that was not the case. An artist worth keeping an eye on.
I'm an opinionated old tosser and proud of it.
