Guess that means you will be "practicing" in your mother's car. huh? Best of luck. I'm sure she will make allowance for your educational achievements, however. ;)

You'll do fine, Karine! :)

I passed my licence many years ago, but in France, I never drive. I know that when I'll come back, I will need to practice and check the rules of the road again. Some streets and boulevards changed; there's also a new bridge and a new highway that didn't exist 6 years ago. I will have to discover all of these ;)

dont take anything for granted. :)

on thanksgiving day, i was on my way to my friends house for dinner, i was going up a really long
road, but the way the sun was coming through the trees it was like a strobe light. i had to put my
hand up over my face because it hurt my eyes so bad. then i got an instant headache. next thing you know
im sitting there with cops and paramedics. apparently i had a seizure while driving and i hit three cars and ran
myself into a tree. i had my seat belt on thank god. but my air bags didnt deploy so i was knocked unconscious
from my steering wheel. finally, when i regained consciousness they started questioning me. and i was post dictal at
this time. since it was thanksgiving day is the US their first guess was that i was drunk or on drugs. which
i was on neither. i didnt know my name or how old i was, where i was going, where i was. i dont remember any of the accident happening. i guess thats a good thing. so they took me by ambulance to the hospital started me on an anti seizure meds and released me to my parents. i had no major injuries, thank God. just really beat up. black and blues
everywhere. and so much soreness. now i have to get tested for epilepsy. :) i cant wait til this is all over :)

be safe everyone!

Oh my God! I'm happy to know that you didn't get hurt in the accident  The people in the three other cars, were they all okay?
In my last job, a visitor had once an epilepsy crisis and my co-worker called me because she was so shocked that she didn't know what to do. We all had first aid training, but she couldn't even stay next to the man. Other visitors were telling me things like: "Put something in his mouth so he doesn't swallow his tongue", "Try to call his name" (yeah, like if calling him would help in any way!).
I had to do a few first aid interventions during the years at this job, but this was the most "impressive" one.

I can't imagine what it must be to have a seizure because it never happened to me, but I hope you will find its cause. It's a strange way to end the last year, but as you wrote, it's a big life lesson that you'll probably never forget.

That's a frighteningly close call, Jessie. If you're a cat, you've used a life for sure. The razor's edge between survival and disaster is so close, sometimes, that we fail to perceive it. Hopefully it was a one-time thing, but do find out.

Hope it doesn't happen again. Take care and be well.

Hi Jessie,

I'm so, so sorry to hear about your accident, I really, really can empathise with your situation. The bright side is...(Is there a bright side to this?)....Is that you're safe and sound(-ish.). I sincerely hope you get closure on this. Please remember that just because this has happened DOES NOT mean you're prone to future occurrences. It appears that the police took the correct view that there could be other underlying factors in the accident and not simply assumed drink/drugs.

Take care and get well soon :D

Q

P.S. You didn't tell the police your name was Jessiemonkey did you???
