Murmurs Fan Club

I just want to make a point here for those of you who were on Murmurs. I was there for almost three years and we had a good community of people. I could not believe that they would just drop that site as Sarah is always good and hot news. It took me a week before I actually realized it was gone. There were so many friends and good honest exchanges of wit and humor. It will be missed not only by me but from all those who found a home amongst friends from all around. The point given and taken is before our eyes, the Fan Forum. What good luck for it to come around now. I say, Hats off to Ellie for her time and passion for a good and unique artist. We should all thank her even though she will not want to be centered out for what she put in in regards to time and vision. To keep an honest and bright site open for all the dedicated fans of Sarah and to bring us all together in conversation is a good accomplishment in its own. Speaking for me, thank you for having me and i do enjoy what everyone else has to say. There is no bad karma here. We are at peace in the Sarah Fan Forum. Wolfman out...

It looks like some of the Murmurs members have been posting in the new forum they put up on her site... although it's not quite the same and rather a bit confusing

I, too, was sad to see the Fan Club go. The best concert seats I ever had were through that fan club, and that will be missed. I can understand the new label wanting to have the "official" message board, but it seems unlike Nettwerk to not at least send an e-mail out. I had some issues with that site from time to time, but their customer service was first rate. I can remember ordering some Sarah stickers, or post cards, or some such thing. They were out of one of them, which was about a $1.95 item, and they called me long distance from Canada to the US to see if I would take a substitute. That really floored me! Can't imagine Sony doing something like that.

Checking out the new site tonight, however, there were over 1100 people logged in(!), so you can't argue with progress, I guess. Hope her new record does great, but I'll stick with this site for awhile.

p.s. If anyone has any Murmurs newsletters for sale or trade, I'd be interested. I need issues 2,3,4 and 5 for a complete set.

I don't like the new official site to tell you the truth. There is just something about the design that just bores me as it looks so... so... corporate. I wish Sarah could still have a site (well a modernized version) like she did in the late 90s: http://web.archive.org/web/199802070318 ... chlan.com/ That is both creative and awesome!

I also think its sad that the fan club has gone. I wasn't on there very long before I moved all my Sarah related chat to sarahboards.com but I remember it being fun and a "fan club" is more special than a facebook page or whatever there is now.. Thank you Ellie for setting something special here! ;)

Related question: I thought Sarah was going Indie after Closer but now I see her still with Sony, what gives?

that's awesome you have links for the old sarah site... i remember that design. after looking at it again after 10+ years, it does have that "indie" or original look. i agree that the new site suffers from too many pop-ups, social networking updates, and in-your-face buy this, buy that.
