Sarah and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra - July '11

Post by Miguel » Fri Jan 28, 2011 8:10 pm

For the first time in Sarah's career, she will perform with a full orchestra! She will be joined by conductor Thomas Wilkins and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra for 2 nights: July 15th and 16th.
In her first-ever performance with orchestra, multi-Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan makes her Hollywood Bowl debut. With over 40 million records sold, Sarah celebrates her recent release, Laws of Illusion, which highlights her dreamy ballads and lilting vocals.

She might be testing the waters here and probably do similar concerts in other cities.

I so want to fly to Los Angeles this summer. I would love if she did something like that here in NYC. I wonder if she will do other dates like that besides Lilith. I know ticket sales were low but Sarah is still proud of the tour. I wonder if Lilith will continue.

Or (on a much realistic pov), somebody better record it lol! :D

I was telling someone else that it'll be a better idea to release this on DVD than a Sarah & Friends one since we'll be getting 7 new songs or less on a live CD, much like Afterglow Live, whereas here we'll get something completely 'new'/fresh

Her setlist could be even more diverse and she'll most likely bring back songs from Solace/Touch... Sad Clown, Black, Shelter (well she better!!)

I too love the idea of flying out for this if it's a one time performance

This is too awesome! Back in October Tori Amos performed with an orchestra for the first time in her career and I was telling Miguel that Sarah should do the same. Now I'm completely surprised. It's going to be brillant! :)
