Hello all, I know we used to do this all the time a few years ago but since so many new great songs have been released since then I thought we could update. If Sarah ever released an album of cover songs what tracks would you like to see her tackle?
Here's my list:
1) What's Up - 4 Non Blondes
2) Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead
3) Cough Syrup - Young the Giant
4) Learing to Love Again - Mat Kearney
5) Up to the Mountain (MLK Song) - Patty Griffin
6) That I Would Be Good - Alanis Morissette
7) Diamonds & Rust - Joan Baez
8) Careless Whisper - George Michael
9) Bloodline - Matt Morris
10) Skinny Love/Holocene - Bon Iver
11) Cannonball - Damian Rice
12) The Grass is Blue - Dolly Parton

I wouldn't mind hearing Sarah take on Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes", I think she would do a good job with that one!
Re: If Sarah released a covers album....
neat thread. ive never really though much about covers. ill have to check out those songs on your list, im not too familiar with them. a couple beatles songs come to mind, golden slumbers, rocky raccoon. any ccr song...someday never comes

I would like to hear a cover of Feist. Sarah said in an interview, in 2008 I think, that she like her music. I can totally imagine her singing "Honey Honey". It's a sad and soft song, I'm sure her voice would fit perfectly.
I'd also like something less familiar to her music style, maybe a jazz song like "Feeling Good" or "At Last".

*bump*
Skinny Love by Bon Iver (recently covered to perfection by the Birdy) and Cannonball by Damien Rice are some of those few songs that I wish Sarah had written herself. I'll add Surrounded (Chantal Kreviazuk) and Absence of Fear (Jewel) as well to that list.

There have to be covers of Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel. They are her idols, after all!

Love the Peter Gabriel idea! Bon Iver or James Vincent McMorrow could be cool, too. I especially love Sarah's more epic songs, so she could probably do a really cool version of an Arcade Fire or My Morning Jacket song.

She is a fan of Peter Gabriel and I would love to see them work together!
