Sarah will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame! It’ll take place during the Junos 2017, which takes place at Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre on April 2.
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) is pleased to announce that multi-platinum, award-winning singer and songwriter Sarah McLachlan will be the 2017 inductee into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. With a career that spans almost thirty years, McLachlan is one of Canada’s most celebrated and treasured artists, earning countless accolades including 10 JUNO Awards, three Grammy Awards and a Billboard Music Award.
Read more about it here and here. The latter article contains also an interview.
CP: When it comes to Canadian music honours, the Hall of Fame is pretty much the pinnacle. Has it triggered you to reflect on your career?
McLachlan: I’m not particularly reflective. I’m always looking forward … I guess something like this, sure, perhaps on the day — and in the moment — I’ll be a little more reflective than I am now. I’m just too busy living.

More Sarah media: several interviews to see and articles to read! First off, in this article a new album/work on the new album is mentioned:
Next year, McLachlan hopes to finally hunker down and get that album of original material finished. There are a few themes she might explore from her own life. “We have all these expectations we place on ourselves and other people,” she says. “My personal journey lately has been getting to a place where I can let all those attachments go and just love unconditionally.”

Below you can watch the interview on New York Live from yesterday:
Sarah was all over the news yesterday, both on TV as well as mentioned in some articles regarding the Macy’s Parade. Read here one and there’s another Billboard interview on Wonderland:
“It was even harder this time [as compared to Wintersong] but I wanted to do obvious Christmas songs but choose some songs that weren’t necessarily about Christmas, but more about the feeling of it or the spirituality of it, and I think [the album’s] ‘Go Tell it on the Mountain’ … is in keeping the same kind of vibe but it also has its totally own thing. It was like ‘oh we can do gang vocals on this and have it almost like acapella’ and that’ll be so much fun.”

Interviewed @SarahMcLachlan today and asked her what she’s most thankful for. Her response is too good not to share! pic.twitter.com/CZxMrrTsxX
