Sarah McLachlan kicks off TD Toronto Jazz Festival at Sony Centre

Sarah McLachlan will help kick off this weekend’s 30th Anniversary edition of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival with an intimate acoustic set.

The multiple Grammy and Juno Award winner will take to the stage at the Sony Centre, 1 Front St., alongside Melissa McClelland and Luke Doucet on Friday, June 24 at 8 p.m.

“For more than 25 years, McLachlan has captivated audiences with her emotionally charged lyrics and trademark lilting voice,” Toronto Jazz Fest organizers said of the Lilith Fair founder in a statement, noting that McLachlan has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.

“Along with her musical success, sold-out tours and numerous accolades, McLachlan has been a strong advocate of social change, supporter of music education and an impressive track record highlighting her commitment to many charitable organizations.”

A limited number of tickets to An Evening with Sarah McLachlan concert are available at Ticketmaster bit.ly/28OhLfd or by calling 1-855-872-7669.

McLachlan, however, is just one in an exciting slate of more than 1,500 musicians set to perform at this year’s 30th Annual TD Toronto Jazz Festival, which runs from Friday, June 24 to Sunday, July 3 at various venues in the downtown core.
