Canadian Tenors to tape PBS special at Koerner Hall
Fortune continues to shine on The Canadian Tenors. The Canuck music-makers will tape their first special for PBS, with special guests Sarah McLachlan and David Foster, at the Royal Conservatory’s Koerner Hall on Monday at 7:45 p.m. They will be joined by the Faith Chorale Gospel Choir.
A few tickets ($55 to $69) are available through www.rcmusic.ca or at 416-408-0208.
The Tenors (Victor Micallef, Clifton Murray, Remigio Pereira and Fraser Walters) are in the middle of an 80-city North American tour. They also racked up two gold albums in 2009, but things aren’t stopping there. They just taped a Dr. Phil’s Valentine’s Day special in Los Angeles (to air Feb. 12) and are scheduled on Feb. 14 to sing the Canadian national anthem at the NBA All-Star Game in Dallas, as part of an entertainment bill that includes Alicia Keys and Usher.
And there are constant reports – neither confirmed or denied by their manager, Jeffrey Latimer – that the Tenors will be guests of Oprah Winfrey before too many more months have gone by.
