Sarah McLachlan’s For Barack Obama!

Canadian songstress Sarah McLachlan can’t vote, but she’s an Obama Girl!

“I’m in love with (Democratic presidential candidate Barack) Obama like everyone else,” McLachlan told the Track. “I’m in love with his idea of hope and change. America really needs something to lift themselves up.”

And it isn’t Sarah Palin, said the singing Sarah.

“I felt it was a little bit like ‘Oh, we have to find another woman,’ but I felt like this is a person who hasn’t had any experience,” she ranted. “Do you really think that Americans are that stupid? You’re gonna get all those Hillary voters to vote for just a woman?”

Sarah said she’s doesn’t need to run a country to feel like a success. Her kids and her music are her greatest accomplishments.

“My idea of success is very different from what others would assume. It’s looking in the mirror and being proud of myself and the choices I have made,” said the singer, who will headline MIXFest 2008 this weekend at the TD Banknorth Garden.

“You can’t rely on anything else or anybody else to fill a hole and give you answers,” she said. “You have to find it from within yourself.”
