Ice Cream
written by: Sarah McLachlan
Lyrics
Is better than ice cream
Better than anything else that I’ve tried
And your love
Is better than ice cream
Everyone here know how to fight
And it’s a long way down
It’s a long way down
It’s a long way
Down to the place where we started from
Your love is better than chocolate
Better than anything else that I’ve tried
And oh love is better than chocolate
Everyone here knows how to cry
And it’s a long way down
It’s a long way down
It’s a long way
Down to the place where we started from

Sarah says
– online chat hosted by AOL on 25 June 1997
“I was comparing it to the best, of course,” McLachlan says with a chuckle. “Dark Belgian chocolates.” “I was making comparisons to something that’s incredibly fantastic,” McLachlan says. “Chocolate was up there. Ice Cream is more the idea of ice cubes from (the movie) 9 1/2 Weeks. But `ice cube’ doesn’t sound as nice as `ice cream’, so I took a little poetic license.”
