Media Advisory – Canada’s biggest names in music join together to fight cancer

Bryan Adams, Jann Arden, Barenaked Ladies, Chantal Kreviazuk and Sarah McLachlan to announce biggest charity benefit concert in Vancouver history

VANCOUVER, Aug. 7 /CNW/ – In a media conference tomorrow, Bryan Adams, Jann Arden, the Barenaked Ladies, Chantal Kreviazuk and Sarah McLachlan will reveal their plans to team up for the biggest charity concert event in Vancouver’s history. Sarah McLachlan will appear live and will be joined by the other artists via teleconference.

The aim of the “BC Cancer Foundation Presents” concert is to raise $1 million for cancer research, with all proceeds to benefit the BC Cancer Foundation to help build the new BC Cancer Research Centre in Vancouver.

Each of the artists has donated 100 per cent of their time and fees and the event has received unprecedented support from Vancouver’s business community – all of the nearly $1.5 million required to put on the concert has been donated.

Details of the concert will be announced and the artists will share their reasons for becoming involved with this important cause.
