International Stop Racism Concert

Secretary of State (Multiculturalism) (Status of Women), the Honourable Hedy Fry, today kicked off a cross- Canada tour as part of the “Racism. Stop It!” Action 2000 initiative. This special millennium event builds on the growing success of the annual March 21 Campaign, which commemorates the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, by mobilizing youth in Canada and around the world in the fight against racism.
The International Stop Racism Concert and Awards Show will feature live and taped segments of top pop and rock stars in performance and expressing their support for creative solutions to stopping racism. In addition to live performances from BiF Naked, The Moffatts, Monica, Deborah Cox, Dubmatique, Susan Aglukark, Big Sugar, and Allakomi, powerful sentiments will be delivered to the audience from world youth, dignitaries and celebrities such as Bill Cosby and Sarah McLachlan via videotaped messages.
